Beach Collecting Kit | Forceps, Bottles & Botanical Labels

A seashell, a bit of driftwood, a perfectly smooth pebble—children have always known that the best things at the beach are the things you bring home in your pockets. We chose this little collecting kit because it gives those finds the importance they deserve. It turns a beach walk into an expedition, then gives kids the tools to carefully sort, label, preserve, and display what they discovered.

Each kit is meticulously assembled by hand in June & December’s Michigan studio, with tiny glass specimen bottles, corks, stainless tweezers and labels tucked into a pocket-sized tin. It is beautifully thoughtful without being fussy—and will almost certainly result in someone presenting you with a very ordinary rock and explaining, at considerable length, why it is actually extremely rare.
