Steve's son Jack has cerebral palsy, and every floor seat they tried caused slouching and discomfort. So Steve—who had a background in medical device development—started prototyping with window insulation foam, working alongside pediatric physical therapists who taught him about anterior pelvic tilt and how most baby seats restrict hip movement. He built a seat with a forward tilt, a large pommel, and wide leg openings to promote healthy posture and proper hip positioning. Small batches rolled off the line in Hamilton, Ontario, and the response was immediate—parents, therapists, retailers. Featured on CBC's Dragons' Den. Now in over 500 Canadian Tire stores. The company donates 1% of revenue to families in need. This backless booster applies that same thinking to the car seat years: wipe-clean polyurethane foam (no fabric covers to wash or replace), reinforced steel frame, rigid LATCH connectors that click into your vehicle's lower anchors, padded armrests, contoured seating, dual foldable cup holders, integrated Grab & Go handle. Crash tested to U.S. and Canadian motor vehicle safety standards. For kids 4 and up, 40–120 lbs, 38–63 inches tall. Designed and made in Hamilton.
Wipe it down when someone spills juice. Unlatch it when you switch cars. Fold the cup holders when they're holding anything except cups—rocks, sticks, a half-eaten granola bar, three pennies, a plastic dinosaur. Within a week the armrests will have fingerprints you didn't authorize and the grab handle will be doing double duty as a seatbelt for a stuffed animal who apparently also needs to be secured according to provincial safety standards.
