Klaus Mader made a lathe-turned spinning top as a gift for his wife, Margit. That single top turned into a full-blown obsession, and by 1991 the Mader workshop was up and running in Innsbruck, Austria. Today the company makes roughly 150 variations of spinning tops, plus yoyos, jump ropes, optical toys, and plates for top spinning. Every Mader top is designed and manufactured in upper Austria from regional hardwoods. The coloration method guarantees 100 years of colorfastness — meaning your great-grandkids will inherit the same vivid finish you're looking at now. Each original Mader top carries a burned equator line as its signature.
Launch it. Walk away feeling pleased about your spin technique. Return later and find it still humming along, beautifully. Eventually physics wins, the top wobbles, tips, and stops. You'll pick it up and immediately launch it again to prove the first round wasn't a fluke.
