Big Mountains Wooden Stacking Set | 45.6cm | Beech & Linden | SABO concept

A set of layered mountain shapes cut from solid beech and linden by SABO concept, a husband-and-wife workshop in Poltava, Ukraine. Elena designs the forms; Dmitriy does the woodwork. Each piece is finished with natural oil-wax and tinted with water-based paint that leaves the wood grain visible. Children stack the peaks, rearrange the landscape, build routes between summits, and assign roles to the smallest hills. The proportions feel right in small hands — wide enough for stability, detailed enough to hold attention. The wood is smooth without being slippery, and the layers sit together without toppling at the first nudge. Over time the set becomes part of other play: a backdrop for vehicles, a home for animals, a fence for imaginary property disputes. SABO concept works without plastic or synthetic coatings, making objects meant to be touched and handled rather than preserved behind glass.
