Mainers is made by the folks at Tempshield Cryo-Protection, a company that's been handcrafting commercial-grade cryogenic gloves out of Trenton, Maine since 1980. For forty years they've built protective gear trusted by leading labs, the U.S. military, and NASA — stuff that protects against liquid nitrogen and liquid oxygen down to -320.8° Fahrenheit. They took that extreme cold expertise and applied it to consumer mitts. These mitts have a 100% leather palm with precision stitching, water-resistant properties, and a knit cuff to keep the elements out. Cut and sewn in Trenton using more than 95% U.S.-sourced materials. Many of their employees have been with the company since the beginning decades ago, bringing serious sewing and textiles experience to every pair.

Decades of keeping hands safe from liquid nitrogen at -320.8° Fahrenheit, now keeping your hands warm while you scrape ice off a car. Slightly different use case. Same people who know what they're doing. The knit cuff stays put and the leather palm grips whatever you're holding without requiring a pep talk first.
