Tender Leaf Toys makes wooden toys from reclaimed rubberwood, a byproduct of the latex industry. Designed by Danielle and manufactured by Mentari International, a family-run factory in Indonesia where hundreds of local villagers work under high standards of training and wellbeing. The entire production process happens under one roof: each toy is hand-painted, assembled, checked, wrapped in paper, and packaged in recycled cardboard. For every reclaimed tree used, the company plants a new one. Awarded the ICTI Ethical Toy Program seal of approval for ethical and sustainable supply chain practices.

Unpack it and someone will spend twenty minutes arranging the nursery just so, then rearrange everything because the cot faced the wrong direction and obviously babies need eastern light. The high chair will be declared too fancy for everyday use, reserved only for state dinners, which happen twice daily and involve a plastic carrot. Pram gets pushed approximately sixty feet before being abandoned sideways in the hallway, where it becomes a very serious roadblock that everyone has to step over for three days.
