Six interlocking brass bars that disassemble and reassemble into a unified jack shape. Craighill, founded in 2015 by designer Hunter Craighill, makes objects meant to move people out of their busy minds and return them to the sensory pleasures of touching, seeing, and doing. The company's detail-obsessed approach to design and manufacturing shows up here in the exactingly milled construction and lathe-cut bull-nose ends. Each piece is solid brass with a 1/2" diameter. The assembled puzzle measures 3" x 3" x 3" and weighs 1.1 lbs. Functions as a desk object, paperweight, and mechanical puzzle.
Weighs over a pound, which means it stays exactly where you put it until someone picks it up, takes it apart, and then spends the next twenty minutes muttering at six brass bars that suddenly refuse to cooperate. Solving it once makes you feel like a genius. Solving it twice makes you an expert, until you forget how you did it 6 months later.
