First Journey Play Set | Wooden Lion in Car with Landscape | Natural Beech & Linden
Notify me when it’s back
A lion in a car, a set of rolling hills, winding roads, and small trees — the whole thing designed by Elena and Dmitriy, a married couple in Poltava, Ukraine who founded SABO concept around the idea that well-organized lines, forms, and colors can actually matter. Elena handles design; Dmitriy works the wood. They skip plastic entirely, build everything from beech and linden, add felt elements and magnets where it makes sense, and finish it all with natural oil-wax and water-based paint that lets the wood grain show through. The concept sits somewhere between minimalism and something more detailed — simple shapes, but not boring ones. Made for kids, which is why the materials are what they are. 28 × 12 × 14 cm, weighs half a kilo, recommended from age three up.
Set it down. Someone narrates a cross-country delivery mission involving the lion, two trees, and a very important hill. By afternoon the roads have been rerouted, the trees are now a forest, and the car is stuck on a felt hill for reasons related to a backstory you weren't around to hear. Tomorrow it's a different route with higher stakes and a cameo from an unrelated toy that showed up uninvited but is now critical to the plot.
