A watch finds its way onto a wrist and stays there—checked at breakfast, consulted during important decisions about which swing to use, present for the announcement that snack time is in four minutes. We chose this watch because it treats time like the serious business children know it to be, and because a 32mm case fits the smaller wrists that are often stuck with hand-me-downs that slide and spin. The NATO strap is recycled nylon, machine washable to 40°C, which matters when you consider where wrists go. Water resistant to 3 ATM—fine in rain, fine if someone forgets and washes their hands with it on, not fine in the shower or the lake.

The first question will be what all the numbers mean. The second will be whether it's time yet. The answer to the second question, for the entire first week, will be checked every six minutes.
