A plush goose from Senger-Naturwelt, made as a beanbag-style stuffed animal. Soft, slightly weighted, built in the shape of a goose. The kind of thing that ends up on the shelf, then in the toy bin, then somehow essential.

First week: decorative. Second week: your kid assigns it a job title you don't fully understand but respect anyway. Third week: it rides in the grocery cart, attends a doctor's appointment, gets briefly left at the park. You retrieve it. By month two it has witnessed things no goose should witness and kept every secret.
