Bite was founded by a former surf instructor who was motivated to reduce plastic waste after learning that over one billion plastic toothpaste tubes end up in landfills and oceans each year. Frustrated by the lack of sustainable, healthy alternatives, she taught herself chemistry and began making toothpaste tablets by hand for friends and family.
